Travel Info

Although the use of face masks is not mandatory in indoor spaces at the moment in Greece, we as organizers, strongly recommend the use of face masks at all times when inside the conference venue.
As of Sunday 01.05.2022 and for as long as the epidemiological data allow so, all travellers arriving in Greece, regardless of their country of origin, are no longer required to display a valid certificate of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19, or evidence of a negative test result from SARS-CoV-2 infection (PCR or Rapid Antigen test).
The use of facemasks remains mandatory in all public transport.
More information can be found at the official portal of the Greek Government.

Please note that Athens is a relatively safe city in terms of crime rate. However, as a capital city it does suffer from instances of non-violent crime like pickpocketing etc. Please make sure you mind your belongings especially when you use the public transport system and when walking in the street especially in the city centre.

You can travel to Athens city centre from the airport using the Metro (Blue line), buses or taxi. The metro is the best option as it is much faster than the bus and much cheaper than a taxi. Metro line 3 or the blue line will get you directly to Syntagma Station where you get off for the Conference Venue.

Taxis in Athens are yellow. Please only use the official yellow taxis. Please make sure the meter is running once you start your journey. Never allow the taxi driver to charge you more than what the meter says except when travelling from or to the airport in which case extra charges apply.

Public Transport

The two most popular modes of public transport, but not the only ones, are buses and the metro. You can find bus stops just about everywhere in Athens. You can find a metro map here.
